Manufacturing Technician / Production Worker -- Full Time

Hourly Rate - Starting rate between $18/hour and $20/hour depending on experience

Setex Technologies is a small Pittsburgh-based materials & manufacturing start-up that spun out of research at CMU
about how gecko toes stick to surfaces. We manufacture consumer products for enhanced grip, right here in
Lawrenceville.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the production, packaging, and overall presentation and quality of the innovative
gecko-inspired high friction Setex Grip products from our Pittsburgh-based startup!

This Production job is located in-person in Lawrenceville during daytime shift hours (between 8am-4pm, M-F). The
individual will perform duties related to product manufacturing, packaging, and routine quality checks. The worker will be
trained and learn relevant processes in accordance with safe practices and product requirements. The processes in
question will include packaging, manual assembly of small parts, labelling, heat sealing, and may also include adhesive
priming, adhesive lamination, die cutting, quality inspections, and other manufacturing operations as needed. Candidates
must demonstrate attentiveness to detail and a dedication to accuracy, quality, and efficiency. Setex Grip products are
often small (such as nose pads for eyeglasses), requiring good dexterity to manipulate and good vision (aided or unaided).

5. Able to read, write and speak English fluently.

PRINCIPAL (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES
1. Build product based on bills of materials and manufacturing orders.
2. Operate simple manual, pneumatic and electric equipment as needed.
3. Work with engineering team to test processes changes.
4. Prepare finished goods for shipment.
5. Maintain and enter data accurately for record keeping in accordance with company procedures.
6. Maintain accurate inventory counts of raw materials, manufacturing consumables and finished products
7. Practice good housekeeping, organization and safety

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Music, podcasts, and other audio is permitted (with personal earphones), but screentime
(phone calls, texting, videos) is not permitted during work tasks.
• Must be able to spend the shift either standing or sitting.
• Good vision (natural or corrected) in normal conditions, as our materials can be small
• Good dexterity, as our materials can be small and require manual manipulation
• General physical demands of the job: standing, walking, crouching, stooping, reaching, pulling,
pushing and other similar tasks requiring minor physical activity.
• Operate a computer/tablet, printer, and other office-based equipment.
• The position may be exposed to noise, vibrations, gasses, fumes, mists, dust and odors.
Personal protective equipment and ear protection is available.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
1. High school or GED
2. Prior work experience in manufacturing, assembly, or food service is preferred but not required
